Racial Inequalities Within Houston Metro...We Needs Us Some Affirmative Action...
http://www.politicafe.com/ reports that, within Harris County, TX (not that I live or work there), black people only account for 18% of the total population; however, within some publicly funded organizations, black people account for a much higher percentage of the employees. In particular, within the Houston Metro, black people account for 61% of the total employees and 80% of the total bus drivers.

These numbers are appauling! Something needs to be done NOW to correct these racial inequalities within the Houston Metro organization. It goes without saying that they need to institute a program of Affirmative Action for white people.
This happens to be the same city in which the Houston Fire Department was recently persecuted by black people for being racist (and sexist). However, as it turns out, HFD's racial/ethnic composition happens to be very similar to that of the Harris County population, and far more representative of the population than Houston Metro's racial/ethnic composition.
What now? Should white people march in the streets of downtown Houston and hold rallies on the front steps of city hall, like black people did a few weeks ago when HFD was being accused of being "racist?" Is it equally as wrong when white people are discriminated against, or is it only wrong when black people are the victims of racial discrimination?
White people, you obviously have some hell to raise in Houston! You need to make things equal. When you're done straightening out the Houston Metro, then you need to start in on the NBA and the NFL. Good luck. Nobody REALLY wants equality; they just want more equality than the next guy.

8 Snotty Remarks:
I don't know if you want me commenting on this one!
Kyle: Wow! That’s a lot of seamen, Cartman.
Cartman: Yeah, I bought all that I could at this bank, and then I got the rest from this guy Ralph in an alley.
Stan: That’s cool.
Cartman: Yeah, and the sweet thing is, the stupid asshole didn’t even charge me money for it. He just made me close my eyes and suck on a hose.
Your numbers cant be right. I spend allot of time with taxpayer EMS, tax paid "homeless" shelters and recently saw an episode of cops Houston. I'd say 81% is at least equal representation.
By the way, I did the protest thing downtown. I got allot of attention, but just ended up getting my ass kicked. Apparently
the third week of June is a bad time to do a pre-emptive anti-affirmative action protest.

Ha ha. I get it that your article was "tongue in cheek".
Cartman,
There's nothing I hate more than naggers. ...so annoying...always causing problems...
Flanders,
Just because a high percentage of your ambulance runs are for a certain race of people, does not mean that high percentage is representative of the population. Geez...so insensitive. How dare you give people the benefit of the doubt by assuming that if 81% of your calls are to a certain race, then the population must consist of 81% of that race.
Chuckr44,
I don't know what the tongue in cheek thing means. Is that some sort of sick racial joke? I don't stand for racial slurs on this blog.
You can't be serious that there's not enough white people driving busses. That's why I thought your article was a joke.
Chuckr44,
It's not a joke, and my tongue is not in my cheek, whatever that means.
I am ready to riot downtown and burn some busses, until there are only 18% black people driving busses.
We are under attack, and it's time to fight back! We want our jobs back. White people need affirmative action now more than ever.
I believe in equal rights, which is why I believe all the black people should be fired, and white people should be given jobs in their place. I don't care if the black people who are currently driving busses are the most qualified people for the jobs. They need to do whatever they have to do to put some white people in those bus driving seats, where white people belong.
The reason I believe black people should be fired from their jobs, and white people should be given the black people's jobs is because I believe in equal rights, and I believe that a person should be judged based on the content of his character rather than the color of his skin.
Warning: The preceding comment may contain some satire.
I believe in the right person for the job, not the right color. But Houston is only concerned about the RIGHT COLOR for the job.
And so are a lot of other cities.
Crusty...believe it or not, I know of some north eastern cities that actually have different civil service exams. One for blacks, and one for everyone else.
Take a look at city employees. The majority are black in all fields except a few.
It's not affirmative action....it's affirmative blacktion. only there to help blacks. What about asians, hispanics, japanese, chinese, germans, canadians? where are there jobs?
